Obviously any jack-o’-lantern has already been mutilated mercilessly by children with knives and ice cream scoops, but something about permanently sticking a $10 light-up sword in its head just feels like salt in the wound. [

It’s neat that the POSTCN01 mailbox counts letters and notifies you how much mail is waiting, but what gets me excited is that it looks like a bomb and detonator from an old movie. It’ll make my mailman pee himself

DARPA’s created what it’s calling the Iron Curtain , which is a system that mounts on top of a Humvee and takes out any rockets shot in its direction. It’s pretty nuts

Send in your old DVDs (just the box art won’t cut it this time around, better buy some blanks and get to ripping if you still enjoy Training Day on long car trips), $7.95 – $9.95 per movie plus $4.95 for s&h (orders over $25 ship for free) and expect HD versions back in 4 – 5 weeks. If I wasn’t so worried about traumatizing the kids in my neighborhood, dispensing trick or treat candy in this creepy spider bot pumpkin would be awesome. It runs C on an Axon microcontroller. It uses all digital servos and can lift over twice its body weight
