We’re dreaming of a TUAW tablet
Just like the Newton we used to own…
Where the touch pad glistens,
And the sensors listen
To hear accelerometer events, and so…
We’re dreaming of a TUAW tablet
With every blog post that we write,
May your devices be merry and bright…
And may your tablet be beautiful and light
Thanks to reader Juan Secin, who imagined and designed this conceptual mock-up

Filed under: iPad Here’s an interesting post by a blogger named teucher that echoes something we’ve heard from developers before — that the iPhone and the iPad will require completely different experiences. When the iPad was first announced, one of Apple’s big selling points was that it already had a full library of software ready to go — any iPhone app could and would easily run on the iPad

I always love me some xkcd, but today’s happens to be both funny and informative. Also thought provoking: who are all these people googling “I have 96 problems,” anyway?

Filed under: Gaming A leak on Tony Hawk’s official Twitter account has revealed this picture, which appears to be Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game being played right there on the iPhone. The tweet that linked to this picture seems to be gone, but it promised that “This is real & dropping soon.” If we believe this message, it looks like we may be seeing the seminial skating series on the iPhone in the near future. My Tony Hawk knowledge is far from complete, but that level certainly does look like the hangar level from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, which was my personal favorite way back on the Playstation 1 (I also played it quite a bit on the PC back in the day)

Filed under: Hardware , Rumors A reader at Engadget has spotted new Apple ads on the Australian tech site PC Authority that show higher prices for the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Pro. Apple’s Australian online store lists the most affordable versions of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Pro at A$1599, A$1999 and A$3599, respectively, but the ads show significantly higher “starting at” prices of A$1899, A$2399, and A$4499. While Engadget points out that clicking on the ads leads to Apple’s currently priced machines, it is possible that this is another case where online ads have predicted imminent announcements
