Several film-screen manufacturers have confirmed that Apple’s ban will take effect in May. Multiple vendors told iLounge that Apple has said that it will remove both film-only solutions from its stores, as well as any case or other accessory that includes film protection as part of its package, such as cases that include film screen protectors

Research firm Crowd Science says that almost 40% of Blackberry owners they polled are willing to ditch their device for an iPhone when next they need new hardware, and 32% said they would jump ship to a Nexus One. That leaves a dismal 28% willing to rough it with their Blackberry. “These results show that the restlessness of Blackberry users with their current brand hasn’t just been driven by the allure of iPhone,” said John Martin, CEO of Crowd Science

The build, numbered 10D571, weighs in around 700MB and focuses on Graphics Drivers, iChat, QuickTime, Fonts. The build also fixes: Compatibility issues with OpenGL-based applications Performance improvements for 64-bit Logic Changes to QuickTime X that increase reliability and improve compatibility and security Printing reliability and compatibility with third party printers Issues resolved that prevented files from copying to Windows shares Issues resolved with recurring events in iCal when connected to an Exchange server Issues resolved that prevented files with the “#” or “&” symbols in their names from opening in Rosetta Issues addressed that caused background message colors to display incorrectly in Mail when scrolling Issue resolved that caused machines using BTMM and the Bonjour Sleep Proxy to wake unexpectedly There is one known issue in this build: Safari 4.0.5 will be re-offered by Software Update after upgrading to 10D571 from a previous seed.
