Today at MIX10 Microsoft told our sibling site WMExperts that there would be no cut, copy, and paste in Windows Phone 7 Series, which follows on the news of an Apple iPhone-style closed app market and lack of 3rd party multitasking . When the original iPhone 2G debuted in 2007 without cut, copy, and paste, multitasking, and most importantly a third-party app platform, it led certain editors-in-chief who shall remain nameless (though not pictured-less) wondered — and not unjustifiably — if the iPhone could be considered a smartphone? iPhone 2.0 brought the 3rd party apps

Filed under: Peripherals There are a few features that I’d love to see added to the iPhone’s hardware ( an IR transmitter would be nice, for one thing), but first and foremost among those is probably an induction charger . It’s a little lame to have a device that so easily goes wireless, and then have to come back and plug it in again after usage. Of course, Apple will take their sweet time adapting new technologies, so until then, I might have to make do with Case-Mate’s Hug solution

We can finally put an official number on the apps in the Android Marketplace : 30,000. That’s more than double what was available in December, a crazy fast rate of growth.
