Datel Space Dock Adds External Hard Drive to PS3 and Xbox 360

Adding a USB hard drive to your PS3 or Xbox 360 isn’t as simple as plugging it in (and on the 360 especially, it’s pretty much a hack). But Datel’s new Space Docks make the process simple.
Microsoft files motion to dismiss Datel suit, cites Apple and others in defense

Microsoft has registered a motion to dismiss the antitrust lawsuit originally filed by unofficial memory card maker Datel, in which Datel claimed that by locking out its cards, Microsoft was being illegally anti-competitive in the field of ‘Multiplayer Online Dedicated Gaming Systems” and their accessories. Microsoft’s motion to dismiss (here’s the PDF link) actually cites one of its biggest rivals, Apple, who fought off another unofficial vendor by claiming that its users (us) had knowingly agreed that by using its products, any aftermarket products had to come from Apple as well. You can’t run OS X on any computers not made by Apple, says Microsoft, and so you can’t use any non-Microsoft memory cards on your Xbox.

Microsoft and Apple, already strange bedfellows if we’re to believe Apple’s seriously considering Bing over Google on future iPhones, are at it again, albeit indirectly. This time it’s Microsoft’s turn, as they present counterarguments in an Xbox 360 antitrust case.
The disgruntled player is a company called Datel Design & Development, which dubiously argues that Microsoft is monopolizing the market for “Multiplayer Online Dedicated Gaming Systems.” With their supposed monopoly, Microsoft is allegedly controlling the related market for accessories by using software-related barriers that bar 3rd party devices from competing with Microsoft Xbox 360 accessories. Datel cracked PSP’s encryption process? – Any use for PS3 community?

To continue, I want to grab the news I just read. Datel may had success in cracking the PSP’s encryption process and sign EBOOT’s to run their own software on official firmwares, including the newest and the PSP Go hardware.
