Epic "can do what we want" with Gears

Mark Rein has said that Epic Games is free to do what it likes with Gears of War.
“We own Gears of War. We can do what we want with it,” Rein, who is vice president of Epic, told VG247.
“We have a great relationship with Microsoft, and they helped turn the game into a huge success for us, and we are pretty happy with the way things are going.”
Gears of War has only appeared on PC and Xbox 360 up to now. One assumes Epic’s working on Gears of War 3. Bloody well better be – I must know what the deal is with Marcus’s dad!
