Microsoft has release a platform preview of Internet Explorer for Windows 7. This platform preview is intended for Developers. It contains a series of tests that IE 9 is undergoing and is used to compare to other browsers. It also contains several demonstrations showing how IE 9 will perform.

Some Instability!
How many other folk besides myself are having problems with IE8’s instability?
In my recent blog “Doing and Doing” several comments were made, not in relation to the actual content of my blog, but instead serious complaints were made about the stability of IE8.
One commentator suggested the problem is with Windows 7 News website itself but I would have to disagree with that. I mostly use Mozilla Firefox to access it with no problems at all. I suggest the fault may be caused by some glitch in IE8 itself.
I am pretty sure the problem is not with my computer setup. Everything is running fine. I have IE8 installed on three computers, a desktop, a laptop and notebook and experience the same problems with all Read more ...

Removing Unwanted Commands from Desktop context Menus
In my previous article I explained how to add additional commands to the Desktop Context menu. Now I’ll show you how to remove them. One of the System hacks, “Create Shortcuts to Themes, Desktop Background, Screen Saver, Display Settings and More” from Vishal’s website, “Tweaking with Vishal”, provided me with seven useful hacks that I installed on my computer.
The illustration below shows you the changes I made when adding these additional commands to the Desktop Context menu.
